Review of GSM handset Samsung D830

“Once you open handset you will see display, it has pretty much envious specifications without any discounts made due to model’s thickness. Its resolution is 240×320 pixels (2.3 inches, 36×47 mm), can show up to 262000 colors (TFT). Colors are saturated, easily readable even outdoors in a sunny day. There are no problems at all except for the fact that it gets soiled easily, but once backlight is turned on – you won’t see it. There can be up to 8 text lines displayed with additional 4 lines saved for service needs. Some modes can enable display of 12 text lines.” Read more about this beatiful phone here:

Nokia E70 Review flip with a difference

“At heart the E70 is a fairly standard S60 3rd Edition candy-bar smartphone, with the full set of PIM and Enterprise-focussed applications, including the new S60 Office suite and licensed versions of Handy Expense, Zip Manager and WorldMate. See our E61 review for all the gory detail of the platform, hopefully most people reading this will know the drill by now – S60 3rd Edition is slicker and prettier, with better support for different screen sizes, but has a more limited range of third party software available. The display’s impressive at 352 by 416 pixels and all S60 screen elements are nicely drawn and smoothly finished off.The kicker comes when you open the device up. As you’ll have spotted from the pictures, the numeric keypad lifts up and over the screen in ‘gull-wing’ fashion, creating a two-part qwerty keyboard that’s surprisingly useful. The ‘flip’ hinge is very sturdy indeed and the keyboard locks nicely into the flat position, ready for holding in both hands and thumb typing. As soon as the keypad is lifted, the display starts to change, and after a couple of seconds delay the S60 interface appears again but this time in landscape mode, as appropriate for keyboard text entry.” Read more at allaboutsymbian.com

PalmMAME 017.5 ALPHA is out for Palm OS!

“Alpha means it is mostly untested, very little documentation and it may crash your palm!Requirements:- PalmOS 5 an SD card and as much free RAM as possible. You will need at least 9M free. Most PalmOS PDAs will also need UDMH which allows storage RAM to be used as dynamic memory. What’s New from version 17?- Reduced memory usage. The loader can be in ram or SD card. The modules MUST be on SD card.- Fixed Joust. – Started to update loader. I haven’t finished that yet, but you can enjoy the changes so far. – Fixed rotation cutting off screen- Note: Program startup and Searching for ROMS will now just blank the screen for a bit. That’s normal and for searching it can feel like a long time, just let it go.- Added Zodiac hardware acceleration and screen stretching (don’t choose scale if you have a Zodiac, it is already on)- Added more error checking and reporting in loader- Reduced memory usage of loader- Fixed some misc loader bugs- Added Cyclone 0.86 which fixes several games so they may gain extra speedups from this asm 68000 core (hwchamp, riot city, sdi, shdancer, toryumon, hangon, shangon, outrun, blstroid, cchasm, relief, skullxbo, toobin, vindictor, gauntlet, gauntlet2)- Added artwork support which is essential for some games such as Armor Attack. Artwork downloads are available in a separate download.- Zodiac display problems fixed. (mostly, a few games still have problems such as Gorf and cchasm but they can be played when rotated.) ” Check it here:

Fujitsu goes miniscule with N100, N110 PDAs

“Sometimes taking on an impossibly small form factor works in your favour: take the MobiBLU Cube, for example, where the tiny MP3 player put that company on the map. But sometimes going too small can hurt the product’s functionality and usability, and I fear this may (or may not, we’ll just have to wait and see) be the case today. The latest Pocket Loox PDAs from Fujitsu Siemens — the N100 and N110 — are so tiny, in fact, that they’re being touted as the lightest and smallest in the whole world. Running on Windows Mobile 5, the N100 series are powered by a Samsung 300 MHz processor, and come equipped with 64MB of RAM. While the higher-end N110 sports 2 gigs of on-board flash memory, the more entry-level N100 ships with a 1GB mini SD card instead. Both feature a 2.8-inch, 65k color display with a 240 x 320 resolution. As a pocket GPS device, these newest Loox devices come preinstalled with Navigon MobileNavigator 6 software and boast the SiRFStar III chipset. The Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox N100 and N110 are destined for European store shelves next month, with prices starting at 206Pound (380 Dolars via mobilemag.com.

Palm Treo to Add WiFi Capability at the right time

Samsung Helix XM2go YX-M1Z Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review “Palm will add wireless Internet capabaility to future models of the Treo phone. The company had declined to add Wi-Fi because it drains battery life. Chief executive Edward T. Colligan would not say when the capability would be added. “We do believe Wi-Fi is an important technology,” Colligan said. “There’s no question that we’ll ultimately put in our products, but at the right time.”” via washingtonpost.com

RIM Blackberry 8700 Review at Brighthand!

“Research In Motion’s Blackberry email devices are enjoying quite the boom these days, on par with Palm’s Treo smartphones. So what’s the big deal? We took a look at the Blackberry 8700, RIM’s latest cellular-wireless handheld, to see how it stacks up against the competition. This device is available in several minor revisions and carrier versions. The model we tested was the Blackberry 8700g on T-Mobile U.S.A. The 8700 uses the “classic” Blackberry form factor: a relatively thin but broad device with a large landscape screen, ideal for having a larger keyboard and longer lines of text. It’s considerably larger than the average phone, explaining why some people prefer to use it exclusively as a data device, maintaining a “normal” phone for voice. Conversing on it directly might be uncomfortable if you’re sensitive to the size of your phone. On the other hand, it makes for a very decent keyboard, though not quite as large as the slide-out keyboards on some smartphones made by HTC, like the T-Mobile MDA. On the left side of the 8700 is a mini USB port which handles both sync and charge duties.” Read this very interesting review here:

SkyForce Reloaded Review for Palm OS

Samsung Helix XM2go YX-M1Z Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review “Par for the course on these sorts of shooters, no attempt has been made at a back-story. I’d assume is would revolve around your ship having to save the world from any number of ghastly enemy forces/alien invaders. Ho hum. Reloaded’s primary improvement is a screen where you can resume from any level already completed. It’s not an actual save game feature per se but it’s damn well close enough! This is the perfect addition for the dedicated gamer who can just catch enough gameplay during free time to beat the game one level every few days. Kudos to Infinite Dreams for implementing this feature—it’s a perfect compromise between keeping the game hardcore for elite gamers and making it just friendly enough for the casual gaming crowd. Next up is the aircraft selection screen. The same three fighter classes are present this time around—the fast but weak purple scout, the rugged but sluggish brown bomber and the all-around average red fighter jet. Gameplay options, totally unchanged, are made at the title screen. I played through the game in the bomber this time around but I did do some test levels in the other two ships. ” Read this review here:
