But you know, near-flagship-camera-for-less-money isn’t exactly the blurb that will earn the marketing department’s money. Plus, it’s not the exact same dual-camera setup as the flagship Mi 6. It’s pretty close though and it’s cheap. The Xiaomi Mi 5X costs about the same as a Redmi Note 4, whose Snapdragon 625 chipset it’s using.” Read all here:

Pretty much all the main specs are identical to the leak Engadget received earlier, but this was our first time seeing this rounded metallic design. Huawei announced two new fitness trackers, the Huawei Band 2 and Band 2 Pro. At a glance, both are standard fare FitBit competitors with the abilities to measure heartbeat, pace, distance, speed, and direction. A big new addition is VO2 Max measuring. This lets the wearables examine the maximum rate at which their wearers’ bodies can import oxygen, transfer it to muscles, and use it as a source of energy. Reportedly, the technology allows for VO2 measurements with an accuracy as high as nearly 95%. Read more here:

The OnePlus 5 is the newest phone by OnePlus, a company that in just three years has fought its way to become one of the recognizable names among flagship makers. It did so by word of mouth and a large group of dedicated fans, standing by its ‘never settle’ motto. Oh yes, and by making flagship-grade phones with top specs at affordable prices. The OnePlus 5, however, is its most expensive phone, and it’s got an iPhone inspired look and even a similar dual camera on the back. It is the company’s best and the company’s most controversial phone. Also, it’s the only one it makes, OnePlus’ all-or-nothing bet. Read more here:

One new button did appear – it summons Bixby, the digital assistant. Bixby has three jobs, the first of which is to answer voice queries. It can see the world around it too, not just listen to it. Image recognition can spot landmarks and find products on Amazon. Finally, there’s a hub on the homescreen similar to Google Now. By the way, Bixby will power Samsung’s Internet of Things – the company expects by 2020 most of their appliances will be connected and under Bixby’s control. Read more here:

The Huawei P9 was one of last year’s pleasant surprises – with its sleek design, snappy performance, and close to no gimmicks, it was a device that just does/ And the silver lining of all was that sweet dual camera setup at the rear that was co-engineered with Leica, the legendary camera company that is well-known for its high-quality optics.
